Who are we?

Engineering New Zealand is the Registration Authority under the Chartered Professional Engineers New Zealand Act 2002. This means that we assess and register engineers as Chartered Professional Engineers. We also investigate complaints and manage the disciplinary process.

Check your eligibility

You must have a Washington Accord-accredited qualification or be able to demonstrate equivalent knowledge.

Submit your application

One of our Competence Assessment Advisors will check the information you’ve provided and give you feedback within 10 working days.  

Get
evaluated

An assessment panel will be assigned to you. Your application will be reviewed over 8–10 weeks. 

Find out the
outcome

Your advisor will let you know the proposed outcome of your application.
